HEAT assessment for conflict IDPs in Jalalabad, Rodat, Surkhrod and Behsud districts of Nangarhar province (04 April 2017)
OCHA has shared IDP’s petition twice with DRC for leading a joint need assessment in Nangarhar province, These
families displaced due to ongoing clashes in their places of origin which was threatening their lives and they were
not feeling safe to stay there in anymore, lastly they decided to flee and displaced to secure locations within the
province such as Behsood, Surkhrod, Jalalabad city and Rodat district.
02 assessment teams composed by DRC and DoRR jointly conducted needs assessment in Rodat, Surkhrod, Jalalabad
city and Behsood district of Nangarhar province.
Direct Observation
Overall, 164 families were assessed by 02 assessment teams in Rodat, Behsood, JAA city and Surkhrod district.
Assessment findings indicate that 29 families are in need of humanitarian support. While, 135 families were found
not eligible for ERM support, as they were members of the host community, returnee, or those who have already
received humanitarian assistance.
Priority needs are food, NFIs, WASH and shelter.
