A coordinated assessment and information management training, hosted by the Estonian Rescue Board in Tallinn, was jointly facilitated by OCHA's Coordinated Assessments Support, Information Services and Surge Capacity and Logistics Sections. Participants included colleagues from UNDAC, the Stand-by Partnership Programme, the Associate Surge Pool, OCHA's Emergency Response Roster and OCHA staff.  The training focused on the IASC package of tools and guidance, with emphasis on the Multi-Cluster/Sector Initial Rapid Assessent (MIRA) and coordinating assessments in protracted emergencies.

A 3-day training was held on the IASC package of tools and guidance, with emphasis on the Multi-Cluster/Sector Initial Rapid Assessment (MIRA) approach to undertaking a joint assessment during the earliest days of an emergency to collectively define the context and strategic priorities. The training was geared towards French speakers.

A one day training was held on the Multi-Cluster/Sector Initial Rapid Assessment (MIRA) approach. The training was designed to improve coordinated assessments in Guniea by raising awareness and orienting in-country decision-makers about the benefits of coordinated assessments.

The NATF held a two-day workshop to enhance assessment coordination in Indonesia with participation from the Indonesian government, UN agencies, and NGOs. The workshop introduced the IASC approach to coordinated assessments including the MIRA approach, and focused on building on existing assessment approaches including the Emergency Capacity Building Project (ECB) Joint Needs Assessment (JNA).

In-Country Training : Workshop on Coordinated Assessments in Humanitarian Crises

A one-day workshop was organized in Kabul on 16 January to familiarize participating organizations with the IASC approach to coordinated assessments and to discuss its customization for Afghanistan. The workshop generated strong momentum at the national level for the further development of the MIRA approach in Afghanistan. Since that time a national level MIRA workshop has taken place.
