Humanitarian Profile Support Guidance

The objective of the Humanitarian Profile Support Guidance is to provide an overview of definitions, methods and good practice on how to derive overall, inter-sectoral humanitarian population figures. The guidance is intended for colleagues who are tasked with estimating humanitarian population figures and are facilitating, or participating in joint analysis, planning and response monitoring.

IASC Reference Module for the Humanitarian Programme Cycle

The Humanitarian Programme Cycle Reference Module establishes the overarching policy for the application of the cycle in humanitarian crises globally.  It is meant primarily for managers of organizations that prepare for and respond to humanitarian crises.  It provides an overview of what needs to be done, when and by whom, to enable managers to allocate staff and tasks, sequence decisions and planning, and identify priorities.  It does not describe how to do each action.  For this managers should refer to the technical guidance and templates, current versions of which can be found on this site..

The HPC Reference Module is avaiable in Arabic, English and French.

Indicator Registry

Indicator Registry Thumbnail

The humanitarian indicator registry, developed by global clusters, compliments the IASC Humanitarian Programme Cycle reference module. As these markers cannot be standardised because emergencies and country contexts vary, it is recommended that indicators be listed as "key to allow comparison of needs and response monitoring across countries. Enhancements and revisions to the registry are currently under way, with changes expected including periodic field updates, and better compilation of multi-sectoral indicator selections.

The Indicator Registry has its own space on this site; access it here.
