CS ICCG Monitoring Mission for Kilo 18 Transit Camp


The objectives of the mission were:
 To observe/assess living conditions of IDPs in the transit site.
 To assess absorption capacity in case of a mass influx of IDPs from western Anbar.
 To talk with the people newly displaced from areas under ISIL control in western Anbar.
 To talk with partners operational on the ground.

Principales constatations: 

1. Most of the tents are deteriorated and need urgent replacement.
2. The camp needs to be connected to the electricity power.
3. In case of a mass influx of IDPs from western Anbar, Kilo 18 transit site needs to scale up capacity and service provision to be able to respond, including the screening site: WASH services capacity and propositioning for WASH facilities/stock. Need for extra tents for displaced people on transit. Upgrade of screening facility (extend the reception and construct a shaded area). Need to preposition RRM and NFI kits
