Kinshasa, 22 January 2016: In an environment where approximately 3,000 people flee their homes every day and some 7.5 million will be in need of humanitarian assistance in 2016 across the Democratic Republic of Congo, delivering life-saving aid and protecting civilians in North Kivu, one of the most volatile provinces, has become a herculean task in recent weeks due to kidnappings and increased insecurity, further restricting access, said the head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in DRC today.
