HEAT assessment for Natural Disaster affected population in Jalalabad, Behsud and Kuzkunar districts of Nangarhar Province (08 Feb 17)

Sujet/Objectif: 

Following heavy snowfall and rain across the country, PDMC/OCT meeting held in Jalalabad on 5th February to
discuss the reported casualties/damages in Nangarhar province. 90 families were reported affected by heavy rain
across the province. Partners were requested to conduct HEAT assessment of the affected HHs. DRC, SCI and
ANDMA conducted need assessment in Jalalabad city, Behsood and Kama district of Nangarhar province. 16
families were reported from these locations as affected by heavy rain.

Principales constatations: 

The followings were the main findings:
 Out of 16 reported families only 7 families were verified to be flood affected and entitled for immediate
humanitarian assistance.
 Disaster has not caused any affected family displaced from village.
 All 7 selected houses were completely destroyed by heavy rain and currently they are living with relatives and
hosted host.
 In the affected houses, collapse of roofs and wall of rooms have caused loss of food stock and NFIs.
 Assessment teams identified food and none food items and shelter as main immediate needs of affected
families.
