HEAT assessment for conflict induced IDPs in Lashkargah district of Hilmand province (21 September 2017) - Fourth Phase

Security context in Helmand province is extremely volatile since last year due to continue conflict between AOGs
and the government authorities in Lashkargah, Nawa, Nadali, Marja, Sangin, Nahri Siraj and Garamsir districts of
Helmand province. The fighting between AOGs and government forces got worse in the month of August in Nawa
and Lashkargah districts of Helmand province. The households within the conflicts areas couldn’t cope with the
conflict and they are displaced from their origin villages and settled in Lashkargah city which is secured and control
by the government forces. The Joint Assessment Team conducted assessment in order to find out affected people, information about damages, priority needs, and recommend assistance (Who, When, How should be assisted, By which Organization).
