Flash Appeal for Yemen - 2015
Flash Appeal for Yemen - 2015

This Flash Appeal for Yemen released by the United Nations and its partners in Yemen seeks US$ 273.7 million for the next three months to meet the life-saving and protection needs of 7.5 million people affected by the escalating humanitarian crisis.
The protection of civilians is the top priority. The most urgent relief needs include medical supplies, safe drinking water, food assistance, as well as emergency shelter and logistical support. There is an estimated 12 million food insecure people; at least 150,000 people displaced; food prices have risen by more than 40 percent; and fuel prices have quadrupled. Lack of fuel and electricity has triggered a breakdown in basic water and sanitation services.
The Flash Appeal amount reflects what humanitarian partners can realistically implement despite the insecurity and logistical challenges of access to the people in need, including difficulties in bringing emergency supplies and aid workers into Yemen and moving supplies safely to affected locations. In the coming weeks partners will revise the overall Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan (YHRP) for 2015.
The Flash Appeal is available in English and Arabic; a Summary in Arabic is also available.
