WASH Cluster Incident Report №76, 11/07/2017

The WASH Cluster was informed this morning (11th July 2017) that Lysychansk Vodocanal (LVK) are facing serious issues with several water and wastewater pumping Stations de-energized, due to the debts owed to the Luhansk Energy Company (LEO):

Pumping station in RTI district (Lysychansk city) was de-energized.
Borivske Pumping station was de-energized.
Pryvillia pumping station is cut off.

The main area of the city affectde is called “RTI”, where around 40,000 people are now cut off according to LVK.

Tomorrow at oblast level is planned special meeting for discussion the situation regarding LVK and LEO. In the immedfiate term LVK is likely to decide to distribute some 6400 bottles of water (6L each), currently stored at LVK warehouse, prepositioned by UNICEF, to social institutions (education and health care facilities).

The WASH Cluster is in touch with implementing partners, OCHA and with other clusters, as well as with LVK, and will inform of any humanitarian needs.
