WASH Cluster Incident Report №155, 16/11/2018

SHELLING OF SMALL WATER FACILITY – MARIVKA PUMPING STATION

Luhansk Voda reported that yesterday (15th November 2018) there was shelling damage to a small pumping station, Marievka, supplying water to around 200 households in Zolote 5. The pump station supplies water from wells to people living nearby.

Windows at the pumping station were damaged and water company staff considered it was too dangerous to make repairs, therefore they stopped the pumps and evacuated from that location.

Luhansk Voda is calling for a Window of Silence (WoS) in order to make repairs to the pumping station. The WASH Cluster is investigating the incident further and will contact WASH implementing organisations if additional short term water provision needs to be considered.
