Syrian Arab Republic: 2017 UN Inter-Agency Humanitarian Operations (as of 5 April 2017)

Since the beginning of 2017, the UN and partners successfully delivered multi-sectoral assistance through inter-agency operations, reaching 440,000 people in besieged and hard-to-reach areas with dire humanitarian needs. A total of 11 inter-agency convoys have been undertaken. including one to Khan Elshih in which UNRWA and UN agencies reached 5,000 Palestine Refugees and 1,000 Syrian Nationals respectively. In addition, during 2017, 50 WFP-led airdrops dispatched 1,006.3 metric tons of food suppliesfor the besieged parts of Deir-ez-Zor city. The fifth round of food distribution for 93,500 people was completed on 28 March. During 2017,152 airlifts to Quamishli have delivered 5,437.8 metric tons of food, WASH, nutrition, health and NFIs on behalf of the UN and partners.
