Highlights

  • All five priority countries have reported outbreaks in 2017, ranging from 6 cases in Zimbabwe to 2,122 in Mozambique (where most cases are centred in Tete and Nampula provinces).
  • The outbreak in Mozambique has spread to Malawi's southern districts of Nsanje and Chikwawa.
  • The Tanzania outbreak has considerably reduced but continues with sporadic cases in Dar es Salaam.
