Murle IDPs Rapid Assessment in Juba

1. To determine where the majority of Murle IDPs who are displaced from Jonglei as a result of armed conflict are currently living in Juba. 2. Conduct meeting with community leaders and church leaders to determine major needs (if any) an1ong IDP populations. 3. Visual verification of the IDPs at household level to verify current needs and public health.
Key findings: 
1. Team identified the main locations where the majority of Murle's IDPs are living through help from community leaders, church leaders and members of the community. Below arc the names of areas where Murle IDPs are found in large number. a. Jebel b. Suk sita c. Jaborona d. Konyokonyo 2. Meetings were held in Jebel with IDPs community elders and church leaders with some questionnaire filled in too. The IDP leaders stressed that the numbers were increasing and they are worried the situation could get worse if there is no intervention from the government. 3. The Team was able to visit two homes each in Jebel and Suk Sita sties, avoiding visiting too many households to avoid raising expectations. The two homes visited were occupied by not less than three Households with little sheltered sleeping space, a reported one meal a day, I household could have approximately 10-15 individuals. Major concerns which need to be address urgently according to lOPs are Food, Shelter, WASH and Health basic needs. 4. Households did express that they hope to return to Pibor as soon as the situation is safe. Thus this should not be viewed as long-term displacement but potentially for some months.
