Pakistan Flood Update of 7 September 2014 as of 1500 hours

Overview:

 The flood losses are mounting with 172 deaths reported country wide so far. Reports indicate
widespread destruction of the critical infrastructure, habitats and livelihoods and increased
incidence of vector borne disease;
 The flood situation along the River Chenab will remain critical over the next 3-4 days;
 High to Very High Flood situation is anticipated along the River Indus in the Guddu-Sukkur region
between 13-15 September;
 Flash floods continue to seriously impact the vulnerable districts in northeastern Punjab; and
 Responses comprise search and rescue efforts , preventive evacuations and life saving
interventions amid restricted access to the worst affected areas.
