Humanitarian Response Plan
The Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) is prepared for a protracted or sudden onset emergency that requires international humanitarian assistance. The plan articulates the shared vision of how to respond to the assessed and expressed needs of the affected population. The development of a strategic response plan is a key step in the humanitarian program cycle and is carried out only when the needs have been understood and analyzed through the Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO) or other joint needs assessment and analysis processes.
OCHA Nigeria HRP 2017 focus on humanitarian community capacity on responding to the most urgent life-saving needs. The most directly affected states of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe are home to an estimated 8.5 million people in need of life-saving assistance and the response aims to reach 6.9 million of the people in need in these three states.
The HRP is produced once a year.
