Nigeria Health Sector

The humanitarian situation in northern Nigeria has deteriorated substantially in recent weeks. Over 7 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance across the country, with limited access to basic health and other essential services. Following recent military operations against the insurgency in the North Eastern part of Nigeria, 800,000 people have become newly accessible in liberated areas of Borno State. Their health condition is dire, with rates of mortality and acute malnutrition that well exceed emergency thresholds.
