Borno State I Jere LGA I Custom House settlement rapid assessment I DRC Rapid MSA I 2 January 2018

Subject/Objective: 

On Thursday 28 December DRC received information about the movement of all the IDPs present in Shuwari Village to Custom House IDP camp . This movement was initiated and done by the Nigerian military forces in charge of the area (195 Battalion) on the ground of safety and security, as there was allegation of infiltration or attempted infiltration by Armed Groups combatants in the village.
DRC conducted a preliminary assessment on Friday 30 December 2017 to see the situation, followed by a WASH, Shelter, NFI and Protection rapid assessment on Tuesday 2 January 2018 in Custom House Camp. The aim of the mission was to:
1. Assess the need of the recent IDPs that were relocated from Shuwari village to Custom House Camp.
2. Evaluate the need of shelter and assess the space available to the IDPs for possible construction of shelters.
3. To identify types of vulnerability among the new arrivals
