Mental Health Case Detection Tool

1. Aims and objectives

The Mental Health Case Detection Tool is a procedure of pro-active case-finding of people with probably mental health problems and subsequently to promote help seeking. The Mental Health Case Detection Tool consists of contextualized vignettes and associated pictures to facilitate recognition by relief workers or community people. The rationale behind the strategy is that briefly trained people that are intimately familiar with, or provides services to, the affected community, are especially well-placed and capable to identify persons in need of mental health care.
