Haiti: WASH Rapid Assessment for Jeremie - 8 Oct 2016 [EN]

Subject/Objective: 
As a result of hurricane Matthew landfall in all Haiti Western departments occurred severe flooding and influenced the landscape of the area causing erosion, destabilisation of the mountain walls. Water supply is a significant concern in these areas affected by the hurricane Matthew. Cholera cases registered in the CTC are on raise.
Key findings: 
POTENTIAL INTERVENTIONS FOR WATSAN 1. Establish the water supply for the hospital and CTC (trucking) 2. Water treatment at household level – PUR, aquatab, soap 3. Hygiene promotion and water treatment messages. 4. Follow up with the mayor office and find out what are the plans of solid waste removal from the streets. 5. Enhance capacity of HRC to respond to growing WatSan needs.
