Shelter working group Field assessment report : Jeremie

Key findings:

 Emergency distributions remain critical. A coherent plan including food and NFI needs to be established. More partners with operational capacity are urgently required to assist with the the distributions.

 Technical advice and assistance urgently needed to ensure safer recovery. This needs to balance hurricane risks as well as earthquake risks.

 Material / cash support for repair / reconstruction effort. This should reflect functional status of the markets but also the need to ensure quality in CGI (to reduce storms) and legality of timber.

 For longer term there is the need to address needs at neighbourhood level through multisectoral interventions.

 Ensure site planning capacity is in place to respond to growing informal sites
