IOM Tanzania Burundi Influx - Weekly Report from 17 to 23 July, 2017

Highlights

  • 440 new arrivals (218 males and 222 females) composed of 188 Burundian and 252 Congolese Asylum Seekers. Busiest entry points during this week were Kigadye (221 persons), Murusagamba (85 persons), and Kasange (39 persons).
  • 350 Congolese Asylum Seekers (164, 186 females) were relocated from Manyovu and Lumasi transit centers to Nyarugusu camp. 106 Burundian Asylum Seekers were relocated from Lumasi transit center to Nduta camp.
  • IOM’s fit-to-travel medical screening revealed that, the top five medical conditions among the transported persons during this week were: malaria, skin infections, upper respiratory tract infection, conjunctivitis, and moderate malnutrition.
