IOM Tanzania Burundi Influx - Weekly Report from 15 to 21 May, 2017

Highlights

  • 256 new arrivals (127 males and 129 females) composed of 115 Burundian and 141 Congolese Asylum Seekers. Busiest entry points during this week were Kigadye (180 persons), and Bukiriro (20 persons), Herushingo (10 persons), Kabanga (10 persons), Kasange (10 persons).
  • IOM relocated 225 Congolese Asylum Seekers from Manyovu transit center to Nyarugusu camp.
  • IOM’s fit-to-travel medical screening revealed that, the top five medical conditions among the transported persons during this week were: malaria, skin infections, upper respiratory tract infection, acute watery diarrhoea, moderate malnutrition.
