Afghanistan: Humanitarian Response Plan (2018-2021) One Pager

For 2018, the humanitarian community in Afghanistan requires US$ 430 million to meet the acute needs of Afghans affected by crisis. International humanitarian support is required for 3.3 million people, 2.4 million of whom conflict-related needs, and for which no alternative lifeline exists. Life-saving responses related to trauma care, emergency shelter, food, nutrition and safe water are in the 2018-2021 Humanitarian Response Plan, which aims to reach 2.8 million people, including 1.6 million severely food insecure, 585,000 acutely malnourished children and women, and 635,000 people living in damaged housing. Humanitarian activities save lives, prevent illness and protect civilians caught up in the conflict, while also preparing for new emergencies such as a sudden refugee movement, drought or a major earthquake.
