AFGHANISTAN: Cross-Border Movement from Pakistan (as of 10 Feb 2015)

Military operations (ongoing since June 2014) in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) in Pakistan have led to the displacement of some 300,000 people to surrounding districts in Paktika and Khost provinces in Afghanistan. As of 10 February 2015, 42,028 displaced families have been assessed. Response has been ongoing since18 June 2014.

Approximately 8,000 families or 19 per cent of the total are accommodated in Gulan camp, while 81 per cent is living with host families straining the already limited resources of under-served
communities.

Funding constraints have impacted the refugee response with humanitarian actors only able to meet the most urgent protection needs, including basic camp management.
