Joint need assessment of IDPs in Behsud district of Nangarhar


Direct Observation

Key findings: 

The families have displaced from Pachir Agam district of Nangarhar province due to direct attack of ISIS (DAESH) on local residents. After the incident the case was reported by media that there are families have displaced form the mention district. The need assessment was conducted for the displaced families and finally, the ER section of NRC could able to find 8 more eligible families who are recently displaced from Pachir Agam district of Nangarhar province. These families were also living in so bad condition. During the assessment it was observed that they were displaced from aggression of ISIS. Meantime the government of Afghanistan started operation against them and a very big and dangerous conflict happened and caused killing/wounding of civilians and as well displaced the local residents massively. As this was a sudden event so the local residents left all home appliances even livestock just saved the life throughout leaving the area. Now they are living in so bad condition suffering from the tuff situation of the life and are in need of emergency assistance.
As 8 families and 37 individuals, the average household size for this caseload is 4.63 person
100% of the beneficiaries has listed food, 100% of them listed NFIs as second priority and 100% of them followed by winterization and health as their third priority needs.
Base on assessment team’s observations, the families are living in extremely bad condition therefore the team recommended them for emergency assistance.
