Key findings: 
Based on the information NRC received from ANDMA and UN- OCHA regarding heavy snow-fall which occurred in Pushtan Kot district and Maymana city of Faryab province at 5:00 PM on dated 16 and 18 Feb 2017 affected people in 20 villages Pushton Kot district and Maymana city. Later on, PDMC’s meeting was conducted on 19 Feb 2017 in governor office regarding this heavy snow-fall occurred in Pushtan Kot, Maymana city and other districts of Faryab province and it was chaired by Faryab governor and in the meeting, it was agreed the joint assessment team should conduct assessment from snow fall happened areas. Following that, assessment teams was formed for a joint assessment and departure to the affected areas on 23 Feb 2017 and the joint team started assessments from 23 Feb to 1 March 2017 and this door by door survey lasted for 7 days. 56 out of 113 families selected as real affected families as they met the ERM beneficiary selection criteria. The food and none food items of majority of the assessed households have been destroyed and are not enough for another one-two weeks; those are assisted and helped by relatives and neighbors and community and the children are at risk as they don’t get enough to eat or drink and are getting sick by plotted water/ environment. At the moment, some affected families have been displaced to other areas and they are living in rented house and the rest are living in host community. Their most urgent needs are NFI, Hygiene kit, shelter and food items. The market is active in these affected areas and considering all these issues, UCT for food intervention was decided as best delivery method by NRC. SCI is going to provide NFI for the 56 families. Report indicates the average household size of this caseload is 5.86 person and 100% of the beneficiaries has listed food as their first priority followed by NFIs and Others.
