Adding a dynamic block to your space on HR.info allows you to automatically show the latest relevant content to your audience.

Dynamic blocks can be tailored to show only certain types of content and the examples below show how this can be done for documents and maps/infographics.

  1. Navigate to the space that you would like to update, at the bottom of the page you will see a black bar with the following two buttons.  Select Customize this page. (note: if you cannot see this bar on your page you may not have the correct permissions, if so, contact support info@humanitarianresponse.info)
  2. Select the area of the page you would like the block to appear in, either Header, Columns or Footer and select the + button.
  3. Once the Block options are open, first select ‘content by HR.info’ then select the type of dynamic block that is relevant for you.

For maps/infographics follow the Dynamic Maps/Infographics guide further down the page.

For all other document types follow the Dynamic Documents guide below.

Dynamic Documents

You can now customise your Dynamic Block for your audience using the options below:

- To add a title to your block, check the box ‘override title’ and add the title you would like to use e.g. Latest Situation Reports, Latest Reports or similar.

- If you would like to give users the option to view a large number of relevant documents we would recommend to use the provide a ‘more’ link which will add a ‘view more’ link which takes the user to the full collection of documents.

- Another option is to tick the Use Pager Box which will create pages within the block that the user can scroll through.  An example of how these look in a dynamic block is shown below.

- Enter the number of documents that you would like to be shown in your block in the ‘Num Items’ field or 0 to display all results (We would recommend setting this around 5)

- To ensure the documents shown are from the correct operation selecting it from the dropdown in the ‘Space’ field.

- To show documents from a specific cluster/sector within that operation select the relevant option from the clusters/sectors field. Important: If you select the cluster, you must leave the operation field empty, use cluster field only.
